Dive Team Awards and Trophy Criteria

Age Group Champions:  Divers for each Age Group: FG, FB, JG,JB,IG,IB,SG,SB who earn the highest number of points overall in meets in the season. Points are earned only in “A” meets; 5 points for 1st Place, 3 points for 2nd Place and 1 point for 3rd Place.

Team Score Contributors:  Divers who earn points in “A” meets but were not age group champions. Note: there could be various team contributors from the same age group.

Coaches’ Award:  Coaching staff selects a diver (regardless of gender or age) who receives special recognition for being easily coachable, a good listener, having a positive attitude and high work ethic.  Consideration will also be given to:  diver attendance at practices, assistance to coaches and teammates and diver willingness to Dive Up.

Most Improved Diver: Coaching staff selects up to 2 divers (regardless of gender or age) who have shown the most improvement from the beginning of the season.

Hardest worker: Coaching staff selects up to 2 divers (regardless of gender or age) who demonstrate dedication, tenacity, willingness to attempt new dives and techniques, willingness to attend various practices and perseverance.

Sportsmanship: Coaching staff selects up to 2 divers (regardless of gender or age) who consistently display a positive attitude, fairness in dealing with teammates, graciousness in winning or losing, encouraging others.

New Record: Diver who scores higher than the established record for a specific event.

Club Champions: The Divers (one boy and one girl) who earn the most number of points during the season.

MVP: Coaching staff selects a diver based on a two-fold criteria 1) the selectee must come from the pool of divers who earned points (Hard data) 2) the diver’s contribution to the overall success of the entire team (subjective consideration such as: helpfulness, attendance, positive attitude, sportsmanship, leadership, reliability, influence on teammates, setting good example.)
